Dr. James Thomason, Pastor
As Pastor of this historic church, it is my calling and my joy to provide care and leadership among fellow Christians as we seek together to find our mission and fulfill our ministry in the inner-city community where God has placed us. Proclaiming the Gospel, caring for those who are hurting, and focusing the congregation’s energies in areas that will make a positive impact in people’s lives—this is where I devote my time and efforts in ministry. Pam and I have been married since 1976 and the Lord has blessed us with three wonderful children.
Rev. Josh Hunt, Associate Pastor
Married to Sacha and has one son, Jude.
Josh, Sacha and Jude are excited to become part of the Anderson community and the First Baptist church Family.
Rev. Glenn Bolt, Administration
Married to Gwen, we have two sons and two daughters-in-law.
My call is to serve God through the Church. My passion is to connect people in such a way that they experience God’s love and love others.
Rev. Travis Crocker, Minister to Students
Married to Brooke, a Special Education Teacher.
Ministry Statement: To fulfill the calling from God on my life whatever that might cost. Connecting people in a relationship with Jesus that is passionate and motivates action. Training disciples to expand the kingdom for His sake (not for our desire of impressive numbers). Engaging the culture with teaching that is relevant, presenting the Gospel in fresh, exciting ways. Counseling people through their valleys, showing them God is there. Rejoicing with people’s victories, pointing them to Christ’s hand in their lives.
Mrs. Ramona Hallman, Organist
This church has a wonderful Reuter pipe organ and it is my privilege to play this instrument to the glory of God. I am married to Dan Hallman, retired administrator from School District V. My son, his wife and their two sons live in Anderson. My daughter and her husband live in Gaffney with their two children.
Mrs. Kelly Smith, Pianist
Kelly Smith, a summa cum laude graduate of Erskine College, received her B.A. in Piano Performance under the instruction of Dr. Matthew Manwarren. In addition to teaching music in both the public and private sectors, she has been an active accompanist for several regional school districts and colleges. Her experience as a church pianist and organist span two decades. She and her husband Jamie have two daughters, and they enjoy making music together as a family.
Mr. Jamie Smith, Music Assistant
Jamie Smith has demonstrated his lifelong love of music both personally, as a trumpet player and vocalist, and professionally through his career pursuits. He has devoted 11 years to public school band directing, during which time he also served 8 years as a part-time church music minister. Jamie received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Erskine College in 1994 and later earned his master’s degree in School Administration from Furman University. Originally from Donalds, SC, Jamie moved to the Anderson area after becoming the assistant principal at Calhoun Academy of the Arts, a magnet school which emphasizes the integration of fine arts into core curriculum. He and his wife Kelly, have two beautiful daughters, Savannah and Sara Kate.
Sharon Royals, Ministry Assistant
I have two children, Natalie and Nick. My husband Steve and I have been married for almost 26 years and have lived in Anderson for the past 14 years. I am originally from Texas and still enjoy visiting family there. I enjoy hiking, biking, traveling, and hanging out with my family.
Mrs. Janice Fouts, Financial Secretary
I have been employed at FBC for 38 years and 28 years as Financial Secretary. My husband’s name is Sonny and my hobbies include playing guitar and doing woodcrafts.
Ms. Patricia Patton, Receptionist and Secretary
I have 2 children and 4 precious grandchildren. I love to sing, work in my flower garden and serve the Lord.
Mr. Greg Wilson, Maintenance Supervisor
Mrs. Libby Ashworth, CDC Director
Married to my wonderful husband Seth for six years, we are blessed to have 3 children: Cameron, Rylee Grace, and Paislee.
I consider it a privilege to be a part of this wonderful ministry here at First Baptist Child Development Center. It is an honor to work along side
all the wonderful teachers as well as all the precious children and families that enter the doors of this church daily. I count it a blessing to serve
with such a great group of people and staff!
